Not every question needs a frontier model. A quick rephrase or a short factual answer runs beautifully on a small, fast model, while a complex legal analysis or a tricky refactor deserves the heaviest reasoning available.

The problem with picking one model

Most tools lock you into a single assistant. You either overpay for a frontier model on trivial tasks, or you underserve hard questions with a small one. Kalyos removes that trade-off.

How auto-routing works

When you send a prompt, Kalyos reads the task and classifies it along a few signals, length, whether it involves code, whether it needs multi-step reasoning - and then selects the cheapest capable model for that tier.

• Quick tasks go to fast, efficient models.
• Technical and coding tasks go to balanced models.
• Deep reasoning goes to frontier models.

There is no provider bias, the router only cares about capability and cost.
