In short
- [01]Ask where your data is stored and where the models run.
- [02]Check that it does not train the models.
- [03]Make sure you can export and erase it yourself.
Where is your data stored?
GDPR does not forbid sending data outside Europe, but it regulates those transfers. The simplest is still a service that stores your data in Europe.
At Kalyos, your data is stored in Europe, and the models run there too, on Microsoft Azure.
Do your conversations train the models?
Some services use conversations to improve their models. Read the terms before putting sensitive data in.
At Kalyos, your conversations never train any AI model.
Is your data encrypted?
Two moments matter: on the way, with HTTPS, and once stored.
At Kalyos, exchanges go over HTTPS, then conversations, files and memories are encrypted with AES-256 before they are stored.
Can you get it back and erase it?
GDPR gives you, among others, the rights of access, rectification, portability and erasure. A good tool lets you use them yourself.
At Kalyos, you export all your data or delete your account from your settings.
Who processes your data?
The privacy policy should say who processes your data, why, and how to use your rights. If something is wrong, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
